Who is NextGen?

For Bryan Whatley, there’s far more to fitness than just the teeming gyms of yesteryear. As CEO of NexGen Fitness Corporation, he believes that there’s another way, and he proves that each day with his many locations as his NextGen empire continues to grow.

NextGen Fitness, along with its affiliate NexGen Recovery, specialize in personal training studios rather than the overcrowded stickiness of busy, crowded gyms.

At NextGen, members have the option to work one-on-one with a certified personal trainer, or you can opt for more of a community vibe by enrolling in partner or group training with your family and friends. Either way, NextGen affords members a private, uninterrupted environment where you can focus on your fitness without worry of who is around and who may be watching.

The newest NextGen location

NextGen has been located primarily in Texas and Oklahoma, but that’s all about to change, now that the Gronkowski brothers are helping NextGen find a new home in the Northeast.

Now, NextGen is coming to the Gronkowski’s own hometown with a new training center opening in downtown Buffalo.

NextGen is headed by Whatley and presently offers eleven locations, although the brand is quickly expanding and locations are fast-growing. Originally based in Texas, NextGen offers eight centers in Texas and three in Oklahoma, plus two coming soon in Buffalo, New York and Los Angeles, California.

“This is a great opportunity to bring a new fitness concept to the city of Buffalo,” explains Dan Gronkowski. “We considered a lot of locations for the first NexGen Fitness in New York, but decided that Buffalo was the best place. We love what is happening with its growth and wanted to be a part of the vibrancy in the city.”

NextGen CEO Bryan Whatley echoes Gronkowski’s sentiments, saying, “We are thrilled to partner with Dan and Gronk Nation in bringing NexGen Fitness to Buffalo. The combined experience and expertise of NexGen Fitness and the Gronkowski family will ensure that the people of Buffalo will have access to the finest personal training and recovery experience with the unique NexGen Fitness concept. We are excited to join the dynamic city of Buffalo and look forward to serving the community.”

NextGen Buffalo will feature almost 4,000 square feet, boasting an enviable address - the first-floor lobby of Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation’s 40-50 Fountain Plaza complex. The new NextGen center also joins other Fountain Plaza newcomer, Flint restaurant

Kyle J. Ciminelli, Executive Vice President of Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation, weighs in, calling NextGen a “tremendous retail addition” to the Central Business District of Buffalo.

“The fact that NexGen Fitness chose downtown Buffalo for their newest location speaks to Buffalo’s continued growth,” explains Ciminelli. “We can’t wait to have them up and running to coincide with our brand new lobby and other amenities at 40-50 Fountain Plaza. NexGen Fitness is a perfect amenity for the tenant mix at 40-50 Fountain Plaza.”

NextGen Buffalo is slated to open in February 2021 to meet those New Year’s resolutions head-on, but you’ll already find your favorite Gronk Fitness Products coming to your local NextGen center.

“The Gronkowski family is excited to connect NexGen Fitness to Buffalo as co-owners in the project,” says Gronkowski. “In addition, you can expect to see the equipment the Gronkowski’s sell at the G&G Fitness stores in the NexGen studios around the country.”

How to get started

To get started, NextGen offers preliminary assessments with free metabolic testing and optional anaerobic threshold testing to ensure you’re working out at your best each session.

NextGen also offers its own exclusive technologies to its members: NexGen IGNITE for cardio monitoring in real-time, NexGen NUTRITION, which allows for cutting-edge dietary planning, and NexGen INSPIRE for a revolutionary fitness app that will keep you on the right track for sessions to come. There is also heart rate monitoring technology, in addition to golf and athletic training. To get the whole family involved, NextGen also offers youth and teen training for ages 8-18.

All you need to do is choose a center. Which NextGen location will be your new home?
